Hair Treatments for Healthy Hair

A while ago, I blogged about my favorite hair care products (CLICK HERE) and while I do still love and use every product I listed, I have a few new favorite hair treatments I want to share with you.

It is very important to deep condition your hair at least once a week to keep it healthy, and one of my favorite hair masks for deep conditioning is the Monoi Repairing Hair Mask by Carol’s Daughter. I use this mask at least once a week and it works wonders on my long fine hair, keeping it shiny, soft, and healthy. It never weighs my hair down either! It is truly a great hair mask and I highly recommend it.

Claims:

Carol’s Daughter claims this hair mask is a deeply nourishing hair treatment to undo and prevent damage by up to 96%. And that strengthening your hair is the only way to lengthen it so you can do whatever you want with it. That’s why the strand-strengthening Monoi Oil – an ancient recipe made from the rejuvenating Tahitian Tiare Gardenia Flower and Coprah Coconut Oil – is a must-have to help repair fine, delicate, or chemically-treated hair.

Directions:

Massage gently into clean, wet hair, giving a little extra love to your frazzled ends. Leave the treatment mask on for 5 to 7 minutes and then rinse well. Or, for an even deeper treatment, put on a plastic cap and sit under a dryer for 10 to 15 minutes.

After I wash my hair, I always use leave in products, usually leave in conditioners and/or argan oil. My absolute favorite leave in conditioner is Milk_Shake Conditioning Whipped Cream (a conditioning mousse). If I could only splurge on one hair product, this would be it! I always use a normal conditioner after I shampoo my hair and then just add this treatment after I towel dry my hair. I have tried so many different products and nothing else comes close to this treatment. It is a miracle in a bottle and it smells delicious! It does not weigh hair down, make it greasy or build up over time. It is simply perfect. Because I can’t pick up Milk_Shake Conditioning Whipped Cream anywhere, there is another product I like to use when I am all out. It is called Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner by Sexy Hair. This can be purchased at Ulta for $16.95 and it lasts a long time. It really conditions and detangles my hair.

Sample Size Me: Beauty Sampling Programs

There is just something about a surprise that’s so intriguing. The thrill of getting something unexpected is one of life’s little pleasures. And that’s exactly why I was excited to learn about beauty sampling programs.

What is a beauty sampling program? It’s a beauty program that delivers 5-6 deluxe sized samples (sometimes even full-size products) of high-end beauty brands in different varieties of makeup, hair care, skin care, fragrance and nail products right to your door each month. Beauty sampling companies work with leading beauty brands to provide a monthly box of deluxe samples to those who become members, all for a fraction of what it would cost to buy in a beauty store such as Sephora or Ulta. There is an online profile to complete which helps to best match products to your personal beauty requirements.

Sounds amazing, right? Well, there is a catch…there is a small fee to start sampling. Generally this fee ranges from $10-$21 a month, but the samples you receive are usually worth much, much more.

You’re probably wondering which beauty sampling company I decided to try. Well, I signed myself up for a three-month beauty trial to the program I liked the most which is Glossybox. Glossybox was the most expensive program I researched ($21 per month), but personally I found their high-end beauty brands the best and I couldn’t resist the cute pink and black box the products will arrive in along with a special card. Unfortunately my beauty box will not arrive until the end of April (about 3-weeks). But I am sure this surprise will be worth my wait!


I also plan on signing up for Birchbox after my three-month trial with Glossybox. Birchbox actually has a waiting period to try their beauty sample boxes and I am currently on a waiting list.

As soon as I receive my beauty box, I will write a full review on my beauty blog. I am one excited girl…can’t wait for my surprise beauty box to arrive!

The Best Hair Care Products For Gorgeous Hair

I have tried almost every hair care product out there, from super expensive to really cheap. Having long dark hair myself, I always want to keep my locks shiny and healthy. I don’t have damaged hair, but I do have really dry and somewhat fine hair and sometimes finding the right products can be difficult. There are excellent inexpensive hair products out there, so don’t think you must buy salon brands to keep your hair looking and feeling amazing. And once you find a product that works wonders on your hair, you should keep using it, but there is nothing wrong experimenting to find something even better! And remember, keeping hair healthy starts from the inside out so sometimes it’s not a product that you need, but vitamins, nutrients, and lots of water.

My absolute favorite hair care line that I recommend to everyone is Milk_Shake hair products.
